What our customers think
It is rare to find someone so (relatively) young who inspires so much confidence. The team really knows their stuff and can deliver what they promise. The range of skills is remarkable as he appears to be as much at home with watches as making chronometers. The quality of the work is superb and the value for money excellent. Recommended without hesitation.
Great service for my longcase clock by people who obviously know what they’re doing. I had the face renovated a well as the movement and am very pleased with the result.
I would recommend Jobson clocks.
We recently had our grandfather clock overhauled by Christopher Jobson Clocks at Cholmondeley and found their service very courteous and efficient.
We were given a complete dossier on the history of the clock and clockmaker and Tommy obviously put a lot of effort into researching this. The clock came back in pristine condition with all the renovations carried out to a very high standard.
French Time Pieces
Christopher Jobson Clocks Limited repaired two antique French clocks for me and I was impressed with the service they offered. The chimes are wonderful to hear once again and the time-keeping impeccable.
Joseph Smith of Chester – back to life
Our two train bracket clock was looking very sad, brought about by years of neglect, coupled with a really bad conversion from its verge to anchor. After intensive research into movements made by Joseph Smith,
Tommy (Christopher) was able to remake and replace the escapement, plus the missing strike/silent mechanism. This, with other work such as new hands was completed to the highest standard- it is a pleasure to see this clock working again as the maker intended. Joseph Smith himself would smile.
rare BOSEET overhaul
Jobson Clocks Ltd carried out an excellent overhaul for me recently (May 2016) of a rare Boseet carriage clock which involved the construction by hand of a new 1/4-striking snail. Mr Jobson personally executed a first class overhaul of this clock. I would alway be ready to recommend most strongly his establishment for any horological repairs, restoration or construction.
