Rosewood Four Glass Library Clock by William Burton, Oxford Street London. – SOLD
Lovely rosewood cased four glass library clock by William Burton London.
The Rosewood case with lovely warm patina is of typical library clock form. All sides are glazed with large beveled glasses, including the top. This allows the fine chain fusee movement to be shown off to full effect.
The silvered dial is in nice condition with lovely sharp engraving and Roman numerals.
The blued steel hands are in good condition.
William Burton was working from Oxford Street London in the mid 19th century, which fits with the period of this clock.
A nice edition to your office or library.
