A fine quality 8 – Day long case clock by Thomas Phippard – Poole.
The London quality five pillar 8 – day movement with count wheel striking and recoil anchor escapement.
The 11″ brass dial has very fine matting and lovely crisp engraving. The signature is bold on the lower portion of the silvered chapter ring. The hands are blued steel.
The case is well figured oak of a beautiful warm colour and is very well made with gesso capitals to the columns.
The clock retains it’s original lead weights and brass faced pendulum.
This clock represents extremely good value for money. The quality is comparable to some of the more eminent London makers but at a fraction of the price.
The clock has undergone a full restoration and is ready to be delivered to it’s new home.
