16" Fusee Striking Dial Clock by 'Roskell - Liverpool' circa 1823
A fine quality fusee dial clock.
The case is of Mahogany with good quality cast brass bezel and convexed glass.
The dial is white painted with Roman numerals and blued steel hands. Signed 'Roskell - Liverpool'.
The movement is of good quality with shaped plates and chain fusee. Probably made by Thwaites and numbered 7020. If so, this would place the movement in the production year of 1823 (numbers 6911 - 7100). The movement strikes the hours and runs for 8 - days.
