A very attractive drop dial clock dating to around 1870.
The clock has a painted white dial with Roman numerals, a fine minute track and triangular 5 minute markers.
The hands are steel spade hands with a nice cross detail.
The case in veneered with finely figured mahogany. The bezel is convex turned mahogany with original cast convex brass glass bezel.
The movement is 8 – day fusee with straight beveled corners to the plates and recoil anchor escapement. The pillars are plain barreled design all pointing towards a date in the second half of the nineteenth century.
The clock has just been fully restored and is presented is very fine condition.
