A rare precision bracket clock by the famous partnership of Parkinson & Frodsham C.1820.
This most unusual clock would have been a special order by someone requiring the accurate indication of seconds, possibly by a doctor, and has the exceptional feature of a very fine and delicate 60 tooth dead beat escape wheel planted outside of the backplate. The engraved twin fusee movement of 8 days duration has maintaining power, strikes the hours on a single bell together with a pull repeat function. The painted dial has conventional hour and minute hands together with a large inset seconds dial at 12.The finely made pendulum has a satin wood rod and fine regulation. The elegant ebonised case has fish scale frets single pad top with brass handle and sits on brass feet.
