A very nice example of a French table regulator with jewelled Brocot escapement.
This clock is a large example of this type of table regulator. It has it’s original gilding present to the case is for the most part in good condition for it’s age. The glasses are all beveled and are all in perfect condition. The Mercury filled double glass jar pendulum is in good order with the original gilding present to the cage.
The white enamel dial displays Roman numerals and is in very good condition. The time is read from blued steel Breguet type hands which again are in nice original condition.
The Brocot escapement is in very good order with both escapement jewels in perfect condition.
The movement is good quality and runs for 8 – days striking half hours and hours on a sweet bell.
The movement bears the stamp for ‘Marti & Company’.
All in all this is a lovely crisp example of this type of table regulator.
