Offered here is an immaculate example of a good quality Waltham Pocket Watch.
The watch is a full hunter, meaning that when the case is closed the dial is completely enclosed. This is often deemed to be the most desirable form of pocket watch and traditionally they were the most expensive due to the large gold content in the case.
The case is immaculate and looks as though it has almost never been worn. It has light wear marks, and has not been over polished and is as crisp and sharp as the day it was made. The case bears the gold hallmarks for Birmingham 1924.
The dial is white enamel with roman numerals and blued steel hands and is in perfect condition.
The movement is Walthams model number 1908, Grade No. 620 and is of good quality. It is a 16l 15 jewel nickle plated movement with Brequet over-coil balance spring. The movement serial number dates it to a production run of approximately 1917. The movement is extremely crisp, sharp and clean, and is running and keeping good time.
The watch is complete with its original presentation case and even retains its original leather slip case.
This watch is offered as a commission sale.
